About the event
Mixing insights from several industry experts and interactive panel sessions, this event will aim at putting the spotlight on (recent) past and future achievements of the Belgian startups, scaleups & SMEs AI ecosystem.
Focus will be placed on the most recent trends observed, and on the specific questions of internationalisation and productization of AI services.
As Strategy Officer at ML6, Julie focuses on strategy and growing the company fast and sustainably. She works closely with internal teams and strategic clients to improve key capabilities. She also leads the internal Ethical workgroup that stays on top of the latest evolutions in the field and integrates best practices in ML6’s way of working. Julie has been featured as a speaker in multiple events covering topics from practical applications of Machine Learning to the ethical implications of AI.
She was the youngest member of the AI Expert Group in Belgium, advising the Government on the development and execution of a Belgian AI Strategy and was elected as Young ICT Lady of the Year 2020 by Datanews. Julie started her career at Accenture Digital, working as a trusted advisor in AI Strategy & Operating Models for high-profile companies and facilitating the coordination and delivery of large-scale transformation programs across multiple industries and countries.
With her deep expertise both in the business & technical domain, she loves to ideate and share insights into how applying Machine Learning can result in unparalleled opportunities for companies and society as a whole.
Michel has an academic background in theoretical Physics. He first received a PhD in particle physics from the UCLouvain, before working as a postdoctoral researcher abroad. His research work was mainly focused on the development of advanced Monte Carlo simulations for Higgs boson discovery.
In 2010, he joined McKinsey&Company as a junior associate and worked on projects in strategy and marketing/sales for Clients in various industries. In 2012, he co-founded B12 Consulting, an IT service firm based in Louvain-la-Neuve specialising in custom software development and data science projects. Since then, he has been leading dozens of advanced analytics/AI projects for Clients in many different industries.
He also regularly teaches Physics and Management courses at University, both at elementary and advanced levels. Kevin is the co-founder and CEO of Sagacify, a company developing innovative products using artificial intelligence. Following graduation from UCLouvain with a Master in Computer Science and Statistics in 2007, he realised the potential that Machine Learning could bring to the industry and got infected by the AI virus.
He then started a PhD in Semi-Supervised Learning at the same university. At the same time, he co-founded Sagacify, convinced that artificial intelligence was going to be a tremendous drive of changes in the industry where mundane and repetitive tasks humans have to take care of today will be safely delegated to machines, leaving us with more time to innovate, create and enjoy our lives.
Eric Delacroix graduated as an engineer in applied science in 2003. After working in the banking and insurance sectors, he went to consultancy. In 2008, he founded Eura Nova with Hervé Bath and Sabri Skhiri. The company specialises in data science, data engineering, and data architecture. Eura Nova has its own private research centre, and solutions incubator.
The first solution designed and built by Eura Nova is Digazu, an end-to-end data engineering platform. Eric is now the charismatic leader of a crew of 125 people in Brussels, Tunis, and Marseille. He is married and the father of 3 boys. When he is not coaching his team or meeting clients, he plays football with his kids and cooks for joyful moments packed with family and friends.
Ségolène Martin is the CEO and cofounder of Kantify, a start-up specialized in developing Artificial Intelligence solutions for biotech, medtech, and transport. Kantify announced in 2019 a world first in predictive health together with the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Ségolène is an expert within the Global Partnership on AI and AI4Belgium.
She is also the Belgian Ambassador of Women in AI, an international consortium federating experts of AI. Ségolène is a Board Member of BeCode, the Belgian coding school with positive social impact. In 2020 she was nominated by ‘Trends Tendance’ as one of the 30 leaders of tomorrow.
Sander Van Den Hautte
Sander joined Python Predictions as a Data Scientist in February 2021. He holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering (ICT) and performed PhD research specializing in monitoring industrial assets and detecting anomalies.
Before his PhD research, Sander has gained several years of experience as a developer and technical analyst in the insurance domain.
Part of Faktion’s business development team, Alexander helps customers identify, outline & complete successful machine learning projects across Europe and beyond.
Having been active in many different industries from fast moving consumer goods, to aerospace, Alexander is intimately familiar with cross-industry innovation and its challenges. With a strong mix of business and technical expertise, Alexander is always ready to exchange use cases or discuss projects!
As Client Partner, Kristien is the first point of contact between our clients and Radix, representing the client’s best interest and helping them identify AI use cases with a clear business impact.
Prior to joining Radix in March 2020, Kristien worked for five years as an AI consultant, building NLP solutions to support knowledge workers to do their best work.
